Eastern Regional Sales Manager

Location:   Successful candidate should live in the Eastern U.S., preferably in the Northeast within close proximity to a major airport and key account HQ offices. Extensive travel required.

We are a Los Angeles, California based company seeking an Eastern Regional Sales Manager to call on all regional accounts in the eastern U.S.  The successful candidate is a high-energy, “roll up your sleeves” kind of person, and a driven professional with a minimum 5-8+ years of snack/natural foods multichannel sales experience. Experience in a closely related product category may be considered.

This regional sales leader will be a key part of fostering a creative, fun and employee-focused company culture. Candidate will exemplify our mission, brand values and promise and will be a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual who along with each member of the Funley’s team will become a national face of the brand.  As part of the sales team, you will be responsible for executing the sales and trade marketing plans in your region in order to achieve the agreed objectives in the short term and to ensure that the business strategy is achieved in the medium term. Candidate will call on multiple channels, and manage the eastern broker network in order to guide the team towards optimum performance.

Scope of Responsibilities:

·       Report directly to CEO

·       Manage entire eastern regional sales growth and continued market penetration; call on distributors and retail accounts in a variety of channels including natural, specialty, grocery, etc.

·       Lead eastern region to meet or exceed sales budgets and merchandising objectives; ensure maximum profitable growth

·       Manage eastern region broker network to achieve established objectives while helping to maintain focus on the company’s strategic goals; develop performance based incentive program for brokers; establish performance goals and aggressively monitor performance on a continual basis; set, achieve and exceed new account development and retention goals.

·       Foster positive relationships and proactively manage client needs and expectations to create ongoing brand loyalty, improved sales of company products

·       Attend all eastern regional and key national trade shows, and local marketing events

·       Produce detailed annual regional sales plan, forecast regional sales, closely track results and provide regular reports to CEO and COO

·       Collaborate with CEO and Marketing Head to develop and execute strategic regional trade promotion/marketing plans, POS, ads, all to coincide with out-of-store consumer marketing initiatives including PR, Event Marketing, Guerrilla Marketing, and Social/Digital Media

·       Manage regional budgets including trade spending, T&E and marketing development funding

·       Work with CEO to analyze regional sales data to determine business growth potential; meet performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior management

·       Utilize and maintain internal CRM (will train on Salesforce.com) for client contact, scheduling, tracking sales activity records

 

Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience

·       5-8+ years of eastern regional sales experience in the CPG Food Space with proven track record to exceed sales and profit expectations

·       Ideal candidate has extensive sales experience in the snack category – Natural channel experience preferred. Other related category will be considered.

·       Possess a comprehensive understanding of distribution, retail, and promotional structures across multiple channels in the grocery, specialty and natural foods industry

·       Current relationships and familiarity with key eastern regional accounts is required; ability to identify and influence key decision makers and build strong relationships

·       Past experience working for a natural brands in a field sales role is a substantial plus

·       Experience launching new items and seeing them to success

·       Ability to think out-of-the-box to get buyers excited about a program

·       Experience developing and managing promotional programs that ensure strong sell through

·       Experience managing broker networks and leading them to success

·       Excellent communication skills: active listener, confident presenter

·       Keeps up on trends in the marketplace/competition

·       Personable, calm under pressure, tenacious, customer service-oriented

·       Strong leadership qualities, self-starter, motivated, and energetic
